West Grove, PA -January 18, 2007: Hugh Lofting Timber Framing, Inc. has been selected by W.S. Cumby to construct the glued laminated structure for the new Dansko showroom and retail outlet in Jennersville, PA. In keeping with the project’s commitment to sustainability and green architecture, the glued laminated timbers are constructed of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified Douglas Fir.

“We are excited about being involved in this project because it is right in our backyard and, well, their shoes are really comfortable,” says Lofting Hugh Lofting Timber Framing, Inc has long encouraged clients to incorporate sustainable technologies into their designs. “Many of our clients are well versed in green building techniques and we are seeing a significant increase in demand for recycled and FSC certified timbers.” says Lofting. “The great thing is that the suppliers have been working toward this demand for some time now and the timbers are available.”

The LEED certification process was established by the US Green Building Council to foster the production of a new generation of buildings that deliver high performance inside and out.
