Build a timber frame shed under the expert guidance of timber framer, Hugh Lofting.
During the class, students wil construct and raise a 12'x16' shed. All aspects of timber frame construction will be covered including: layout, design, engineering, cutting, finishing and raising.
Learn about different styles of joinery, methods of cutting, and timber frame designs. The proper use and care of hand tools will be emphasized. No previous woodworking experience is necessary.
Classes are held on a regular basis either at Hugh's Inverbrook Farm location or on the raising site. A great way to learn about the international influences on American timber framing, to understand the intricacies and techniques of timber frame construction, and to meet new people as you become part of a framing team.
